オーストラリアでは、性感染症（STI）の拡大を防ぐために、接触者追跡（Contact Tracing）が重要な公衆衛生対策とされています。特に、HIV、梅毒（特に妊娠中）、淋病、クラミジアなどの場合、感染の可能性がある性的接触者に通知し、検査と治療を受けてもらうことが推奨されています。また、感染症の種類によっては、例えばクラミジアは過去6か月間、ある種の梅毒ではさらに長い期間までさかのぼってた性的接触者まで通知の必要な場合があります。
ただ、性病の通知を以前のパートナーにするのにはためらいを感じ、難しい作業となる場合があります。そんな時に、匿名で安全に通知を行うために、個人や医療従事者が利用できる無料で信頼性のあるサービスが複数ありますので紹介します。
